few weeks ago while back (sorry, this was sitting in my drafts!), I wrote about a special project I was working on, for a special someone's birthday.
I don't think I've ever attempted something like this, even though this is what I dream to do! Better start now than never, right?
So, I made a book! A "children's book", to be more precise. It was a 16 page booklet, which took me longer than I expected. Who knew 16 would be a large number for someone to write and illustrate, especially when she's on a time constraint!
Things I would improve on
- Binding, definitely. I started off stitching the entire book together, by hand, with needle and thread. In my mind, it was going to be perfect! But I must say, it turned out to be a horror! The stitches were SO wonky and messy – it was terribly planned on my end. I resorted to binding tape, to cover up my mess! I didn't have the time to reprint – in retrospect, I should've kept it simple with saddle stitches instead.
- Time management. I should've gave myself more time allowance for the unexpected mishaps. Should have started this project way in advance! Would have loved to have more time to add more details to my illustrations.
Here are a few pages and sketches from this project!

The birthday boy was happy with it (or so he says), and I do plan to create more books like this in the near future!
